About the Artist: Young Mi Kim is a distinguished Korean contemporary artist whose multidisciplinary practice encompasses painting, sculpture, installation, video, documentary film, and NFT art. Through a career defined by continual experimentation, she has developed a distinctive visual language exploring memory, time, human psychology, the energy of life, and the rhythms of nature. Bridging traditional artistic sensibilities with contemporary forms, her work creates poetic narratives that resonate across cultures.
Kim received her MFA from Hongik University and later served as an Adjunct Professor at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. Over the past four decades, she has presented more than 35 solo exhibitions internationally and participated in over 50 major art fairs, including Korea International Art Fair. Her documentary Painter & Mom has been screened at festivals worldwide, earning international recognition. In 2025, Kim became the inaugural artist-in-residence at Marina Bay Hotel Seoul, where a permanent artist room was established in her honor. Her works are held in major collections, including the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art and the Seoul Museum of Art.
