About the Artist: Marylyn Dintenfass is an internationally acclaimed American painter, printmaker, sculptor, and installation artist whose vibrant, materially rich practice has evolved over more than five decades. Known for her luminous color, gestural abstraction, and distinctive visual vocabulary of circles, stripes, and modular forms, Dintenfass explores themes of duality, perception, memory, and the emotional complexities of the human experience. Working across painting, sculpture, and monumental public art, she has consistently pushed the boundaries between abstraction and architecture. Her work is held in the permanent collections of major institutions including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Smithsonian American Art Museum, Cleveland Museum of Art, and Detroit Institute of Arts. A two-time MacDowell Fellow and recipient of grants from the National Endowment for the Arts and the New York Foundation for the Arts, Dintenfass was inducted into the NYFA Hall of Fame in 2023, recognizing her enduring influence on contemporary American art.
