About the Artist: Born in Seoul, Korea, and based in Brooklyn, New York, Heejung Cho is a mixed-media artist whose practice explores the dynamic relationship between people and the spaces they inhabit. She earned a BFA in Sculpture from Seoul National University and an MFA in Visual Arts from Mason Gross School of the Arts. Working with materials such as reclaimed wood, plaster, resin, and printmaking processes, Cho constructs imagined landscapes and abstracted figures drawn from memory and everyday experience.

Through acts of dismantling, reassembling, and transforming found materials, Cho investigates themes of identity, belonging, and connection. Her assemblages blur the boundaries between representation and abstraction, using color, texture, and form to evoke the invisible energies that link individuals to their environments. Cho has participated in numerous prestigious residencies and fellowships, including programs at the Museum of Arts and Design, Newark Museum of Art, Bronx Museum of the Arts, and New York Foundation for the Arts.
